Blue Krishna

Why is Krishna portrayed with skin of Blue?
Taking the color of sky, Spiritual
And Mystic, Cosmic and Magnificent,
He glows with a hot inner Radiance,
The effulgent Light cast off by the Gods.
Like sky, His Consciousness is everywhere.
Like sea, His Compassion embraces all.
A Son of God, He languishes for man,
Turning well every inner direction
Searching for lustrous pearls to offer us.
Our world has need of Him, and His Sorrow
Lifts the whole mass upwards. Blue is His Grace.
A God’s Sorrow Himself serves, and Truth too,
His Sadness rain, and Tears the morning dew.
