Unguarded Gate
Dream of a sweet enchanted land
With no sorrow or pain:
Open thou life’s Unguarded Gate,
And thou wilt smile again.
In the onerous pathways of men,
A doorway seldom seen:
Vaulted Cathedrals of the mind,
Gentle open spaces.
You are your own Heaven Builder,
Mighty Workman divine,
Or a slave in hellacious pits,
Punished with no crime.
